Understanding Viral Vue's Viral Score
Guessing which products will perform is risky. Viral Vue’s Viral Score removes the guesswork by analyzing key data points for you. With the Viral Vue extension, you can see this score right on Amazon product pages as you browse, helping you instantly spot products that are strong candidates for influencer videos.
What is the Viral Score?
The viral score is a comprehensive metric that gives you an idea of how well a product might perform in terms of visibility and potential sales if you create a video for it. But it's not just a simple number that predicts if you'll hit the top carousel; it takes a holistic approach.
The viral score looks at several factors, including:
- Overall Sales: How well is the product currently selling?
- Reviews: What is the quality and quantity of customer reviews?
- Available Video Slots: How many slots are available for influencer videos on the product page?
- Existing Influencer Videos: How many influencer videos already feature the product?
- Carousel Placement: Does the product have a top or bottom carousel? And if so, how many slots are there?
All these data points are combined into a simple, one-point score ranging from 1 to 100, giving you a quick snapshot of whether or not it's a good product to create a video on.
You can also find the "Viral Score" data point columns in Product Vue and the web app tables, where you can easily sort or filter the data.
Things to Remember About the Viral Score
While the viral score is incredibly useful, it's not the ultimate decision-maker.
Low Score Doesn’t Always Mean “No”
A product might have a low viral score simply because it isn’t selling much yet. However, if it has open video slots and decent reviews, it could still be a great opportunity—especially if your video is one of the first to appear.High Score Doesn’t Guarantee Easy Wins
A product with strong sales and great reviews may score high, but carousel space matters.Example: A top carousel with 20 slots allows more videos to appear, the score could be higher. If that same carousel has only 5 slots, the score might be lower due to tighter competition.
